New ABPI guidance
for banner adverts

In November 2022, the PMCPA issued new guidance on how banner adverts can be used within the scope of the ABPI Code of Practice.

It has been confirmed that adverse event reporting information must be included directly within the advert.

Adverse events

This means that only including adverse event reporting one click away from the advert, with the prescribing information, is non-compliant and could result in a breach of the Code.
